Artikkelissa luomme katsauksen vammaisten lasten tutkimuksessa tapahtuneisiin tutkimusparadigman muutoksiin. Pohdimme, millaiset vammaisuuteen liittyvät käsitykset ja määritelmät vaikuttavat siihen, miten tutkimme ”vammaista lasta”. Tarkastelemme muutoksia vammaisuuden määrittelyssä ja määrittelyjen vaikutuksia käytäntöihin erityisesti koulutuksellisen inkluusion kontekstissa. Konsultoivan varhaiserityisopettajan lapsikäsitys 2010-luvulla

Tässä erityispedagogiikan pro gradu -tutkielmassa tarkasteltiin konsultoivien varhaiserityisopettajien lapsikäsityksiä 2010-luvulla. Tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli selvittää, millaisena konsultoivat varhaiserityisopettajat näkevät lapsen osana perhettä. Tutkimuksemme aineisto koostui 358 kyselylomakkeen vastauksesta, jotka oli kerätty erityislastentarhanopettajilta, joilla ei ole omaa lapsiryhmää. Tutkielman analyysimenetelmänä käytettiin aineistolähtöistä sisällönanalyysiä. Tutkimuksessa vastaajista käytettiin yhteneväisesti nimeä konsultoiva varhaiserityisopettaja. How can we implement infants’ cultural rights? Is there even reason to confer such rights to non-speaking children, or is it enough that we recognise slightly older children as culturally active individuals? Acknowledging children’s intellectual capacities and their right to be heard in matters that concern them are important threads in research on children and ideals of childrearing during the last hundred years. As the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) celebrates its thirtieth anniversary, it is relevant to explore how understandings of children’s rights have appeared during these three decades. As a key public actor in society, the media provides an interesting field in which to study the salience of children’s rights in societal and public discussions. Thus, in this article, we examine how children’s views are represented in «Helsingin Sanomat», the main national newspaper of Finland, in 1997, 2007, and 2017.
